Thanks to the overcast skies, this year’s Meltdown was not so hot but it was really humid. Meeting for an 8:00am breakfast at Flip’s were BMC members Andy, Brandon, Bill, and Terry. With starvation averted, the TR6, MGB, and XK8 motored down Pike Road, and through Mathews for their wind-in-the-hair experience before returning to The Farmer’s Market to see the VWs. Conspicuous by their absence this year were Lee and Mary Anne, who were out of town. Subbing for them this year as our surrogate BMC/VW representatives were Russell and Cathy’s son and daughter-in-law, John & Amy, from Atlanta sporting their yellow 1971 Karmann Ghia, and winning the “Best Daily Driver” award. Meeting everyone there were Russell & Wayne in their new-fangled MINI Coopers. If you couldn’t attend, here’s what you missed: [PHOTOS]
