July 4th Cook-out at the Welch’s

Blitz and Amanda Welch graciously invited the members of the British Motoring Club to their lovely home in Pike Road for a Fourth of July cook-out beginning at 2:00pm .  Blitz and Amanda provided the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, and condiments, while the rest of us were asked to bring drinks and  special dishes, desserts, and snacks to share.

The Pike Road Parade scheduled earlier that morning was cancelled because of rain.  Not deterred by a little thing an all-day rain, our hosts handled this with the same aplomb as they did with the Spitfire’s leaky petrol tank on last year’s Tired Bums trip.  We really enjoyed temperatures in the mid-70s — unheard of here in July.
