Lee Oxford and Mary Anne Hanley graciously invited us to visit their shop and car collection, south of Daleville on May 17, 2014. We met at the Applebee’s on Taylor Road at Plantation Crossing and left at 9:00AM under sunny and pleasantly cool skies. Including a pit stop in Troy en route, was just over a two hour trip. Thanks to Lee for the detailed directions and to Mary Anne for the directional signs and intersection photos.
Upon our arrival at the shop, we were immediately treated to a Barbecue lunch with options of beef, chicken, and ribs with beans, drinks, and an assortment of appetizers and sides. While we were eating, we watched old British car videos on the big screen monitor. Following lunch, Lee gave us a tour of his shop and paint booth and gave the background and details of each of the many ongoing project cars. Among them were examples of MGBGTs, Truimphs, Mustangs, and VW buses. Later, outside, we checked-out the donor cars.
Thanks to Andy for arranging the visit and to Lee and Mary Anne for a wonderful afternoon.
