2020 Tannehill Ironworks Historical Park

In a year when events have forced us to cancel so many of our activities, Saturday November 14 was just about a perfect day.  With deep blue cloud-free skies and temps ranging from the mid-50s at our departure from Court Square to the mid-60s on the way back home.  Apparently, folks were ready for some motoring, beautiful fall foliage, and visiting with friends.  Ten cars (including six British and four other sporty cars) with 12 members made the 2-hour trip via the back roads to Tannehill Ironworks Historic State Park.   [ROUTE]  This was our first trip having Pat Harris and his freshly restored 1972 TR6 motoring with us.  We look forward to many more with him.

Cathy planned this trip and was the tour guide for the first-time visitors to the park.  From there, we made the 45-minute drive to Boon Docks BBQ and Restaurant, in Briarfield vis the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge.  We enjoyed our meal and more visiting under a covered patio with tables for social distancing before heading back home.   [ROUTE]
