President Hank Sims called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on January 14, 2020 at Jan’s Beach House Grill. There were 17 members present. Hank opened the meeting by introducing new member, Dawson Hastings from Selma. Dawson has a 1959 Bugeye Sprite. Treasurer Andy Martin gave the financial report including the final tally on British Car Day 2019. Attendance and revenue were down. Andy asked about the club’s annual donation to Children’s Harbor. $280 was collected from individual members at the Christmas party. Bob Smith made a motion that the club should donate $520 in order to round up the donation to a total of $800. All members present were in favor. Bob also asked about feedback from the new location for the show. Tom Miro stated there would be a planning meeting soon for British Car Day 2020 and it would include a review of last year’s show. All are invited to attend.

Old business was discussed. Tom reported on the Tired Butts tour in November. It was an enjoyable trip with some fun country roads and good food. The Aquarium was a highlight. He also mentioned the Christmas party at Bon Appetit in Millbrook on December 14. The new location received good reviews.

New business was discussed. Tom announced that there will be a lunch run to Huggin’ Molly’s restaurant in Abbeville on January 18. Participants should meet at the Pike Rd. City Hall at 9:00 A.M. Several members will be attending the 24 hours of Lemons on Feb. 2 at the Barber racetrack. Andy said that he would attend for one day and that Blitz Welch would be going for the whole weekend as a spectator. No one from the club will be participating in any of the races this year.

Finally, Hank called for nominations for a new slate of officers. Dan Byrne nominated Tom Miro as president. Dan volunteered to be Vice-president and Pam and Andy agreed to remain as secretary and treasurer, respectively, for another year. All members present were in favor. Hank then turned the meeting over to Tom. Tom gave an overview of proposed events for the year. He reminded everyone that the club is a driving club and he encouraged members to get their British cars back on the road this year. There will be a summer picnic and the Tired Butts tour is scheduled for September 18-20 and British Car Day is set for October 10. Tom asked members to let him know of any suggestions for future trips or events.
