President Tom Miro called the meeting to order at 7:10 P.M. on February 10, 2020 at his residence. There were 16 members present. Tom opened the meeting by offering condolences to Hank Sims whose father had recently passed away. Treasurer Andy Martin gave the financial report and mentioned that the club’s liability insurance fee was due.
Old business was discussed. Andy reported on the 24 hours of Lemons on Feb. 2 at the Barber racetrack. Tom reported on an enjoyable trip to Abbeville and Huggin’ Molly’s restaurant.
New business was discussed. Russell Whigham announced that there will be a lunch run to Niffer’s on February 15. The meeting time and place is 10:00 at the Burger King on the Northern bypass. Tom reminded everyone there will be a Tinker Day at Blitz Welch’s shop on February 29. He will check with Blitz on the time. David Price encouraged everyone to bring their cars to our club’s annual display at the Pike Road Art Market at the Town Hall on March 7.
A proposed change of meeting day was discussed. Due to a new Jammin’ at Jan’s event every Monday, Tom proposed that the club change the meeting day to the second Tuesday of the month. Jan has agreed to reserve that day for us and not have live music on that day. All members present were in favor.
Tom mentioned that he still has about 30 mugs leftover from British Car Day 2019. He will sell them at $6.00 each to anyone who would like to purchase one. He also said that Jan Dzuirlik has already signed up for British Car Day 2020. Tom asked for a volunteer to head up this year’s show and if anyone is interested please let him know.
Finally, Tom and Russell went to see new member, Dawson Hastings’ Bugeye in Selma. Tom thanked Dawson for joining the club and letting him help get the car back on the road.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
