Saturday, March 23 — Nine – Noon. Today was our maiden visit for our annual Tinker Day at Blitz’s shop. For several decades, Hamer hosted us at his shop that has now been sold. Blitz stepped up to fill that void by offering his shop and equipment for minor adjustments and repairs to our cars (as well as doing the lion’s share of the mechanic’s work)– and to have his tools misplaced. All of the tinkerers and free advice commentators arrived at Blitz’s shop in their pollen-yellow powder-coated cars today. Kyle’s Mini, Bill’s TR3A, and Pam’s MGB-GT took their turns on the lift while other cars had their repairs done outside in the perfect weather. Some repairs were completed while others were diagnosed and sent home with parts shopping lists. With our chores done, we adjourned to Chappy’s Deli to re-fuel. More fun and camaraderie ensued. Thanks from all to Blitz for opening his shop to us.
