On Saturday, February 17, we met at a crowded Navy Federal Credit Union parking lot and were headed south at 10:30. It was a nice ride, but a balmy eighty degrees? Fire ant mound condos undergoing a building boom? Ground cover turning the fields and roadside green? What month is this, anyway? The calendar says the middle of February, but today, we had a sneak preview into spring.
The trip down was mostly on Mt. Zion Road, then onto Long Road to Red’s. It’s not really a long road, and would fit our hilly and twisty requirement were it not so rough. Here’s hoping some infra-structure money goes here soon.
We’re still suffering from the LBC flu. We’re hoping for speedy recoveries before our Pike Road event in two weeks. A doff of the driving cap to: Pam in her MGB-GT, Tom in the TR6, Barney in his MGA, Hank & Deborah in their Jaguar, and two GEN 2 R56-S MINIs for keeping this a British car event. It was good to have Cris Moody back in “Sheldon Cooper”.
Twenty-plus folks were on hand to enjoys Red’s home-cooked meal of fried chicken and vegetables, followed by a visit on the front porch. Just in case anyone didn’t have some of their famous pie, we made another stop at Sweet Creek Farm Market for some ice cream on the way back home.
