Several cars met up at our favorite location and ventured out for breakfast at Catherine’s on Lake Martin, just beyond Children’s Harbor. Deborah and I met the group enroute, and Ron and Joyce drove their MINI down from Alex City to join the fun. The convoy was so intent on eating that no one noticed my truck pulled off the road, honking as they passed and trying desperately to catch up. If only I can get the convertible fixed . . . Maybe the long drive worked up big appetites.
With the surprisingly mild August weather, we had two large tables outside on the back porch full of good people and good food. My omelet was filling and delicious, while Deborah and others enjoyed the buffet with scrambled eggs, grits and fruit. It has been too long since we last came here to eat. And boy, did the french toast look good!
Until next time . . . .
