‘Tis the season to be jolly, as the song says, and we had a good and jolly crowd on hand for our annual Christmas Party. Here you see Prez Brandon Brazil as he welcomes each and every one and explains the rules for Dirty Santa. Oh yes, it did get dirty.
David Price brought his Little British Car Carousel that he and wife Kay built. It actually works. The little cars go up and down and around and around. Neat! The only thing they don’t do is leak oil. You need to work on that, David.
Lee Oxford and Mary Hanley took the Needham Award home for a year of enjoyment, which they richly deserve for being our most dedicated and active members this past year. Considering the distance they travel it is especially difficult for them and we appreciate it! Also, Mary is an outstanding photographer and brought along many club pictures from times past. They were fun to see. Thanks, Mary.
Larry Sharpton received the Canavan Award which goes to the member which has made the most improvement to his car the past year. His award winning car at our show in October is further proof of that. Congratulations Larry. You deserve it!
Pam Bransford receives a gift that ended up being snatched away several times. Signs and booze, they didn’t seem to last long. What does that say about our guys and ls.. Ha… Speaking of Pam, we couldn’t have a successful party without all of her hard work. Her helpers were wonderful as well, and that takes planning. Thanks to everyone who contributed. (You would have thought that we could have at least allowed her to keep her presents). Sorry Pam. Maybe next year. Also, thanks to all who brought a dish.Wonderful food and enough for everyone.
As for the attractive young ladies pictured, this is Emily, who is 8 and Sarah 9, daughters of Malcolm and Janet Branch. They certainly added to our Holiday spirit, and yes…they did participate in the Dirty Santa and are quite knowledgeable about how it’s done.We love those festive shirts!
And now, it’s on to a new year and we are looking for another active year with our club growing and more members participating in our many club events. New officer’s in some slots will be elected at the January meeting on the 14th (or at least nominated-we’ll see how that plays out), so please attend and give your input. We look forward to seeing all of you there. Roland Townley
